cleaning your shotgun cleaning tools

Hi all,

I've read many informative posts on how to properly clean a shotgun, but after the gun is clean, I assume you have to clean the tools you were using, right? I'm talking about the bore brush, bore mop... anything else? How should you clean your cleaning tools after cleaning your shotgun? Thanks!

 Clean your tools? And they call me "Anal!"

I don't clean cleaning tools. You start doing that and next you be cleaning the things you used to clean cleaning tools. Next thing you know you'll be joining an OCD group.

Throw 'em in a box until next time. They work just fine.

OCD? Me?

Bore brush--hit it with brake cleaner or soak/store in mineral spirits/paint thinner.

Bore mop--run under hot water. Use some Simple Green or Dawn dishwashing detergent. I also clean Bore-snakes this way.

It is not good to clean your bore with a dirty brush or mop. Grit imbeds and various cleaners should not be combined.

I suppose I could put them in the dishwasher.

Oh, dishwasher broken, bought shotgun instead, two actually.
