Cleaning the bolt

I have never taken apart a bolt and I am reading in my Manual is recommends taking it apart to clean it. The pictures are horrible though and I am afraid to do it without better instructions and or pictures.

Is there a source on here or somewhere else for this?

Drop it in a foil pan of regular solvent for 24 hours. Swish it about a bit and, if you can, blow it out with air. Re-lube.
Have to agree with you about the manual though. It'd be better if the manual wasn't for every 700 series they make. I'd bet that 'piece of metal' needs to be somewhat strong too.

Use regular firearms cleaner, mineral spirits, dip the bolt and lube up as the manual states.
