Cleaning Stainless Steel Handguns

Here's a question for the older members.
What should I use to clean the carbon and lead off my stainless 6" Python cylinders and frame.

There are a couple of treated cloths, such as "Lead Away" (I think thats the name) that will clean all that stuff off with just a few wipes. No need to be scrubbing with brushes and solvent.

I use one for cleaning my stainless steel Ruger Super Redhawk.

Try Birchwood Casey for the lead away cloths, and other cleaning products. After cleaning, I use Flitz, buff it well, and rub my piece down with a good gunoil, then wipe it down with a silicone cloth.

+1 on Lead Away cloth but ONLY for stainless guns as you stated. Do NOT use on blued guns. I wipe the area to be cleaned with Shooter's Choice Bore Cleaner BEFORE using the Lead Away cloth. This combination seems to clean quicker and better for me.

Good shooting and be safe.

Cleaning Stainless Steel Handguns....

I've had great success with using Hoppe's Elite cleaner. Comes in a spray bottle and works very well. Cleans the burn marks off of the cylinders and takes everything out of the barrel to. I like it, and it's easy to use. :)

Flitz...

Camaroman,
I don't see how a silicone cloth could harm a stainless gun.

Good shooting and be safe.

Blue Magic paste applied with a clean terry cloth towell.

You can find it at the local Auto Parts store.

Incredible stuff, you can make a satin finish look like a nickle finish with this stuff!
