Ok, maybe this belongs somewhere else, but I thought I'd ask a few questions here since is pertains to rifle cleaning. I used to use Hoppe's, until I tried Pro-Shot...I thought, "Man, this Pro-shot stuff is great!" Yesterday, while breaking in my M1A, I kicked my Pro-Shot bottle over. Someone let me use some of his "Butches bore shine" WOW! That stuff really cleans! Is that what you guys have found too? Will it damage anything? Do you use it exclusively?

TIA.

Butch's has taken over the benchrest community by storm. It cleans well, it nukes copper fouling, and it seems to be mild enough to where you can leave it in the bore for extended periods.

I've been using it for about six months, and really like it. I've got a full pint bottle of SC in the back of my cabinet that I'll probably give to someone...

I have been using Butch's for a couple months. I really like the way it cleans, and easier on the nose than Sweets. The amount of patches to clean has dropped, on a good day, about 20 or so. I clean every 20-40 rounds, and after the 40th, Butch's for two or three, scrub, Shooter's Choice, patch it until it is clean, two patches of JB, followed by SC, then by Butch's. A final patch of Kroil, very lightly put on.
