Cleaning Ported Revolver Barrels

Just a cleaning question.
I,m picking up a Taurus Tracker 44 that has the ported barrel
style. Need to know the correct way to clean these ports out when they
need cleaning so to not damage ports.
I realize useing soft lead bullets with these barrels is a no no.

I've used pipe cleaners on my Taurus 608 ports. I find it a pain in the butt for a heavy .357 but I can see the value in a Tracker like yours.

Wal-Mart has Tetra. I use the whole line of their products and I use Kroil also. You will probably have to order Kroil through a gun shop. I haven't used Hoppes #9 in years.

We,ll wouldn,t you believe it. Called on my gun and it,s in . They got 4 new handguns in today and only 2 of them had fired cases. Of course mine did not so I,ve got to wait another day. Anyways ,they gave me sn on gun over phone so I slipped down to sheriff Dept. and got her registered.

Well I will pick up some Tetra this weekend and some heavy duty pipe cleaners for port cleaning when required.

Should I clean gun right out of box or is this not necessary? She,s stainless.

Yes! Clean the revolver. You would be surprised at the gunk in a NIB product. Cleaning and proper lubrication along with dryfiring with snapcaps will improve the actions feel.

Try using a Compensator Spray, prevents fouling from collecting on the comp. Makes clean up easy, don't get the crust that usually collects on slots or holes.

Went to gun shop yesterday and paid her off, she,s mine.
But still got to wait till Monday, guy will be in to fire guns to collect
cases. One other buyer is waiting also for a Beretta.
This Taurus is to quite a beauty. Loved feel of ribbed rubber grips,
there was good thought when they developed these. I did plan to replace their grips with Houques but now I,ve changed my mind.
To me, gun feels just a little light for 44 mag. loads but probably I,m
used to the other single action 41 mag. I traded with. Taurus weighs 34 ounces. Just a hair to big for carrying out of sight. I guess inside shoulder holster would work for under a coat. Tried routine with Taurus for cylinder tightness ect. , Everythings seem and feels ok so far out of box.
I,ve got roughly 60 left over rounds of the 41 I,ve got to get rid of somewhere.
25 cartridges of Winchesters new 240 gr Platinum and the rest is the
Winchester 175 gr. Platinum. Please forgive any typeing errors I do.
