Cleaning/Oiling

I just bought a new 357MAG 7 shot Taurus M627, tried it out, and cleaned it with an MPro7 kit. The instructions said to spray the whole gun with the cleaner ("you can even soak the whole gun in it"), which I did. After dry wiping, I applied the oil, which did not have a spray nozzle. I'm wondering if a gun that has been *sprayed* with cleaner shouldn't be also *sprayed* with oil, so as to get to places the cleaner went when sprayed, but which could not be reached just by wiping with a cloth (the instructions say the the cleaner removes all oil). Also, the gun has a rubber grip (at least it seems like rubber). What effect will cleaning and oiling chemicals have on the grip? (which has thin ridges divided by deep crevices all over - 'can't very well wipe it clean of anything that gets in the crevices)? I would appreciate advice about cleaning: what to use and how to use it. I'm not too happy with MPro7 right now. It is supposed to be non-toxic, but I'm having adverse symptoms in head and eye, even though there was no smell to the chemicals used.

MPro7 is a degreaser, but it's not a very aggressive degreaser. I would just put a tiny drop of oil in each crevice where oil might be needed. Dry fire the revolver a few times and that should distribute the oil through the mechanism.

Rubber gun grips are designed to be more or less impervious to common gun cleaners and lubricants. Just wipe off any major spills and it should be fine.
