Cleaning my gun???

Hi all,

So this forum is the most knowledgable forum of airsoft im a part of so i know you can all answer this.


My friend says i can clean my echo1 stag 15 using a REAL gun cleaning kit, i own one for my 30-30 and it has the parts you find on a rod that comes with an airsoft gun, so would i be able to use the lube and oil and such on my airsoft gun without damaging it?

Not too many airsoft gurus here, actually...

Follow the instructions that came with the gun. If you don't have the manual, you can almost certainly download it from the manufacturer's website.

Actually, i'm a bit of an airsoft aficionado.

Do not clean your airsoft gun with real gun oil/solvent.

The solvent in gun oils will dissolve the rubber gasket that is the hop-up system as well with other plastic parts inside the gun.
I recommend using a silicon spray available at most airsoft supply shops. You may also be able to get away with using isopropyl alcohol for removing just the debris.

If you are just talking about using the cleaning rod from a gun cleaning kit, you can probably do that, just not gun oils.

Not sure how knowledgeable you are with airsoft guns, but you also want to turn the Hop-UP system complete off before using a cleaning rod.
