Cleaning Moon Clips

I'm pretty new to using moon clips. Does anyone know of an easy way (must be acceptable to my wife...No dishwasher, kitchen sink use, or anything like that) to clean these little suckers???

Just wipe them off with a rag, that should be plenty for quite a few range trips. If they start getting really dirty spray them down with some bore cleaner and let them sit wet for a half hour or so, a quick scrub with an old toothbrush will clean them right up.

same way I clean non gun stuff that gets dirty:

a tray of some sort of solvent, let em soak then wipe off. Degreaser or gasoline works...

Moonclips get dirty???? I might have run into minor carbon deposit or dust that wipes off with a rag, but have never seen anything that requires any real cleaning.

Cleaning MOON CLIPS

I dunk my Glock barrel in "Ed's Red" home made gun cleaner.
What I would do is get several rags or paper towels. Swish each clip around in your cleaner and simply dry them off.

I do the same thing Madison does. When mine start getting a little grungy, I run a string though the middle of a stack of clips, and then toss them in the bucket of home made solvent (similar to Ed's Red). Swish them around a bit and wipe them with a couple paper towels.

Good Luck...

Joe

Well I just dispatched the shell casings from 18 moon clips, and when I finished my hands were black. I grip the moon clip in my left hand, and twist the shell off with a tool in my right hand. If the ends of the cylinder get dirty, why not the moon clip? It's laying directly on the cylinder.

Must be my imagination!!! ;)

Everyone once in a while, I throw them in the tumbler for a spin! Dump them out and store in used RX bottle! I have plenty of them! I must have 4 50cal ammo cans with "clipped" ammo ready to be bagged for range use!

cleaning the moon clips?

too mundane! And a waste of my precious time. I just toss them after 1 use. I have a standing order for 100 moon clips a month from my supplier.

See Bullrock, 2 can play at your game! :D
