Cleaning Kit Advice Wanted

I need a cleaning kit to clean an old .22lr bolt action Rifle and a new 9mm Pistol (M&P 9)
I am a newbie and unsure exactly what i need and how to do it.
I live in France and can get a kit that covers most calibers from eBay etc (very expensive in the shops here) what do I need to look for quality wise?
I got some gun oil for the .22 its a French brand will this do for the Pistol or should I get a better quality oil?

That I believe is the same system, you clean from breach to muzzle, which is the principle behind the Otis system.
Their disposable kit.
 
Otis makes a few kits and this one will do anything you want. Read the reviews and that one review is the only one I have ever seen that is not "5 Star" for Otis cleaning kits. You will be very happy with that kit.
 
Invest in the snake

I use Bore Snake, CLP, an old clean cotton t-shirt, Q-tips, and sometimes pipe cleaners for the really tiny cracks. Bore Snakes are expensive, and are caliber specific, but they allow you to clean the bore of your gun wicked fast, and with out the mess of oily dirty patches. It would take dozens of patches to match what a Bore Snake can achieve with just two or three passes. I wish I new about these when I was in the Army, I would have had more time to play. The CLP was all we used when I was in the Army for cleaning and lubing. The old cotton t-shirt is good for wiping down the whole gun, and the Q-tips and pipe cleaners for the little spaces. Sometimes, you need a metal scraping tool to scrape off dirty surfaces. Some people like dental tools, but you can use anything that fits, like ice picks, screw drivers, a Leathermans tool etc. Be resourceful.
 
If a bore snake would be better/do the same job but easier I would go for them. (one .22 rifle one 9mm pistol)
I really am new and dont want to waste cash on the wrong decision thats better spent on ammo :D
What is CPL? Cleaner & Lube?
 
The Bore Snake is good but will not replace a cleaning system. The Otis system uses an "all in one" cleaner/lubricator. I use Otis system and Bore Snakes for quick cleaning. I use Remington gun oil, Remington Bore Paste and Kroil. The Otis system should be all you need.
