Cleaning Gear ORGANIZED (Finally)!

In the beginning there was but one caliber and it's cleaning tools lived in a small box and it was good. Then lo came the other calibers and they were divided up by ziploc baggies and it was good. Then the calibers did go forth and multiply and the inventors did come up with the boresnake and the Lewis Lead Remover and the coated cleaning rod and there was mass confusion and chaos within the small box and all was dark. Thence I did'st travel to the land of fishing supplies and in my wonder did'st behold the PLANO 6103 Tackle Box (3 tray) and there was a great rejoicing and order once again ruled the land :D

Man this thing is great for organized storage (and it was cheap too)!

Thanks for posting that...looks like a great solution ! Definitely going to look into getting one.

And the tool box is actually deep enough that there's a small B-Square screwdriver set in there as well (under the bags of patches).

Glad you guys are finding it useful. It sure is nice to no longer have to guess if a mop is for the .40 or the .45 and so forth :D

ZeSpectre,

That was truly apt. As I read your parody of Genesis I broke into a laugh and couldn't stop for a full minute.

Thanks for a rare moment of levity at the end of my day.

Glad to cheer ya up. God only knows others have done it enough times here for me as well.

Finding this tacklebox was just about like a religious experience to an organization fanatic like me.

Big bucks

I bet ideas like this are why you make the big bucks. :) So simple yet so effective. Thanks a bunch you just helped me clean up my shop table.

Nice. I did the same thing... BIG fishing tackle box. Combined gun cleaning and gun maintenance box.

It's got boresnakes, rods, jags, brushes, & cleaning patches, small bottle of hoppes, small bottle of CLP, buttloads of allen wrenches, loctite, superglue, bore sighter, gunsmithing screwdriver set, small socket wrench set, multi-tool, tape measure, brass punch sets, and ink pen. I take it to the range, and on (gun) hunting trips.

That's sweet!

That's why I come to TFL, great info and a wealth of knowledge
thanks.
The lord of organization works in mysterious ways:rolleyes:

I have a Plano box too. But yours is labeled. I'm impressed.

OTOH, I'm not organized - I have 3 shoeboxes full of stuff, an MTM cleaning tray stuffed, some in the dining room, some on the workbench and some next to the laundry tub. Heck, I still have my red metal Daisy cleaning kit for the BB gun I got in 1955. Arrrrrgh. Too much stuff. Looks like this one.

And most of my guns are dirty.
