Cleaning FAL, AR15

I recall that Dillon used to sell a gizmo (maybe a whatchamacallit) that would stabilize the upper assembly of an AR15 for cleaning. It attached to the lower take-down pin and to the upper. This allows you to clamp the rifle in a cleaning jig or vise for cleaning. These devices are no longer in the Blue Press, and I'd like to know where to find one. In addition, does anyone know of a similar doo-hickey (maybe a gadget) to perform the same function for an FN-FAL type rifle? Thanks...

Yup; it's called a "FALwoodie"

Take a chunk of wood 1 1/2" long, 3/4" wide and 1/2" thick, place it between the thumb and forefinger of your left hand (assuming you're right handed).

Guide it carefully under the open upper to a spot just ahead (toward the muzzle end of the rifle) of the cocked hammer.

Remove your fingers from the "FALwoodie".

Clean as usual. ;-)

Hope this helps...
