I have some antique rifled muskets that are in excellent shape but since I put them away some 20 years ago have grown dull and even some corrosion has started under barrel bands. Fortunately, the RIG I stuffed the bores with did its job. I used to shoot them and hunt with them, and so kept them clean even though they are now 170 years old and nearly new looking.
I want to clean them and put the metal back to it's original bright (1842 Springfield rifled muskets) but not affect the sharp edges on the parts or lettering.
Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
