Cleaning a C9 Highpoint

Hey guys

Got back from the range this afternoon and having run about 100 rounds through my C9 I broke it down and found very little carbon in the barrel or the slide. is this pretty much normal?

Depends on the ammo I suppose. Personally, when I had my C9 I never bothered to take it down to clean it. I just sprayed it with WD-40, ran a paper towel patch down the barrel using a pencil for a cleaning rod, then wiped what I could through the ejection port with Q-tips.

It always worked just fine.

HP says in manual to completely clean every 1,500 to 2K rounds.
I broke mine down when I first got them but have not done more than a wipe down since. Granted I'm only at 500 rounds or so with a few of my HP but I don't plan to mess with a total break down cleaning for a while. A bit of carbon is normal and will happen but I wouldn't sweat it unless there's function issues.
