clay thrower spring question

anyone have any idea where to get the main spring for a hoppes/allen cheapo clay thrower?. It's the model you stick in the ground with the three feet. can't get from mfg. so I'm searching for a suitable replacement.

Midway shows it as discontinued, but they have some for $28.00 - Might be easier to just get another one

Or a spring from the hood of an old car?? just a thought dont have a clue if it would work. But like someone else said a new model might be just as cheap/safe(r) i think I got mine at walmart for around $20 or so

You might try a place that sells springs to see if they have something close

This may be one of those times it will be cheaper to replace the whole trap rather than repairing it. There are some traps on ebay for less than $30 right now.

Jaguar - Midway has NEW ones for 28 - it has been discontinued (at least this branding of it)
