Looking on Bud's at one of these. Read a few reviews on it and it got real good ratings. I would prefer it was a series 80 instead of a 70. But it has a irresistable price and I miss my colt mark IV series 70 from decades ago. Thought I would go with 9mm this time. The ambi safety is also good for this lefty. Would appreciate all comments on this 1911. Thanks.:D

If you get one of these you HAVE to let us know what it is like. Or any 1911 9mm at all. I'm so curious on these. Some vomit at the thought of a non 45 ACP 1911 but I'm very interested. I looked up the price on those things and it would be hard to pass up just because of the affordable fun!

I have a RIA full size 1911 tactical in 9mm. It is the sweetest shooting gun I have ever had. It has been totally reliable and is very accurate.

Thanks for the response's. ORDERED ONE TODAY. I will let you all know all about it. I feel like I just got a youthful blast from the past knowing I'm going to have a 1911 again. 1911's and Jeeps are like military icon's that will never fade away. Have a great weekend. I know I won't be able to sleep tonight.

I seen my buddy from Arizona who has one of these and he had nothing but good to say about it. Congrats on the purchase.

I have one and it is really a fun gun to shoot, I've put over 2000 rounds thru it. the lack of recoil makes it really fun. I did have to replace the ejector a couple weeks ago but no big deal.

I have one that I got from Academy about a year ago. I got a sweet deal with it on sale for $330! It's on the front page of Buds most days and goes between $499-530. I still think it's worth that price. I love taking it to the range about every time I go. Easily one of the smoothest shooters I have and very easy to shoot accurately. It will shoot about anything I have. When I'm struggling with some of my other 9's, I pick up the Citadel so that I can feel better about my skills! Pretty much the only negative is that the finish is very plain and dull, kind of a parkerized finish. I'm thinking of adding a few parts, just for cosmetics, then having a new cerakote finish done. With a new finish it would easily look and feel like an $800 gun, to me anyway.

I had a full size 9mm 1911 some years ago and shooting it left me cold. It somehow seemed too "tame" in 9mm.

However, I just had the opportunity to shoot a buddy's 9mm Commander and it is just the perfect balance of weight and recoil (well, to me anyway:D), so I just ordered a 9mm Commander from Bud's.

Regarding Armscor, they have a huge state of the art plant on Luzon, and Filipinos are patient and careful in their work.

Cetadel is RIA but does not have RIA Life Time Warranty. I would just go with RIA. I have 2 RIA 9MMs. They are at best equivalent to my other metal frame 9mms in terms of accuracy but less capacity. I shoot 115 gr, may shoot better in other weight, but I have not tried yet. Honestly, I would go with .45 for 1911 if I do it again. What weight and brand of ammo shoot best in your guys' 9mm RIA 1911s?

I have only shot cheap and reloaded 115 gr. in my Ria 9mm. It is accurate and it has been flawless in 500-600 rounds.

The Citadel was advertised with lifetime warranty but I called Citadel and RIA as they referred me to, no response from any one. Phone and email. It seems you're on your on but it is a good pistol.

Glad to hear all the good reports. I should be picking it up Wednesday from my FFL. Get it cleaned and shot by friday after work. Glad I bought the lifetime warranty from Bud's. Thanks.
