Cimmaron Old Model "P" Charcoal blue. Not one smokeless heathen load thru it. ;D 35 grns Old Eynsford FFFG under a 250 Grn slug.

Reason I use it is after 3-4 cylinder loads the action gets a bit tight at the range so I use the finger screw to take apart and wipe down with Ballistol moosemilk to keep it slick.

Bit easier to do that with the thumbscrew to me.

Beautiful revolver. I always thought the knurled thumbscrews that Cimarron makes were kinda neat.

But I'm one of those weird guys who likes those late crescent-style ejectors, too.

Howdy

Very pretty.

But just so you know, that finish is not very robust. I had a Cimarron with the same charcoal blue finish a bunch of years ago. Within one year the blue was completely gone from the backstrap, rubbed off by my sweaty palm. Without the blue, the backstrap settled into a 'battleship gray' color. Nowhere near as robust a finish as modern blue.
