Ciener 22 conversion kit

Need help with an older conversion kit for my 1911.. The problem
is that the hammer follows the slide each and every time ..Have
tried this kit on several frames that work great with their centerfire top ends..Have also tried different sear and main springs and nothing changes..Sent it back to Ciener years ago and was told there was nothing wrong with it..Talked to a lady there today and she said send it and the frame I want to use it
on so they can see what is going on..No other options..
Not sure I want to sink any more money into this project that is not working..
Anybody got any ideas on how to make this thing work ????

I don't have one but am contemplating a Ciener or a Marvel kit in the near future. Seems to me that sinking the $18 postage into this isn't too much. If they have the actual frame you want to use it on and the problem is repeatable, I'd be surprised if they wouldn't at least diagnose the problem ... if they can't figure it out, they might just return you a new one to avoid being embarrassed!

I'd put it in the mail if you can stand being without that particular 1911 for a few weeks.

If this doesn't happen without the conversion kit (so the sear and sear notch of the hammer aren't in need of 'smithing), try some different 22 LR ammo. The ammo you're using could be too weak and may not push the slide back far enough for the sear notch of hammer notch to engage the sear. Conversely, if it's too strong and the slide is slamming back too fast, then the sear notch of the hammer may not have time to engage the sear). This is called hyperfunction.

In fact, try all sorts of ammo. Your kit may be finicky. If this doesn't work (and the hammer does stay back with the regular slide and barrel combo), then send follow Ciener's suggestion and send the whole kit 'n caboddle back to 'em.

It's kind of a pain, but you could send the frame and slide seperately... That would save you about $8.00. Of course, if the Cenier customer service is like other places' crappy customer service, they'll lose one of the two boxes.

Sending the frame and slide separately isn't an option -- if you're using the mail. YOU can't send it by mail.

The FRAME is the weapon. Just because they're disassembled doesn't make it "legal" to send it.

You've got to send it through a FFL holder, or ship it by UPS or FedEx yourself TO a FFL holder (Ciener, etc.) But the frame is still the weapon, and you've got to tell them that it is a weapon.

Don't TRY to send it separately. You can get in BIG trouble.

(If it were really that simple, everyone would be sending handguns in two packages, insured, for a lot less than it costs to send, now.)

Nor sure if it is worth the $35 or so to ship a frame and the kit to
Florida.. Don't want to take the chance of getting the frame mucked up or even worse of losing the thingin transit.. A 1911
frame in this state is like worth it's weight in gold as there are
no new or old ones coming here.. That means no frames and no
complete guns,no 1911 is Ma compliant..
Well it will make a good paper weight...

Ooh Mass  :barf: "cradle of liberty"

My Ciener works just fine. Thank dZ our high priest!

Search for Church of MOA. You'll feel better for it, I promise! :)

Oh. You don't have a Colt? Sorry!
