Churches and Guns

Some of you may remember the Rev. Sung Yung Moon and his band of merry slaves known as " Moonies ." They got a bunch of land near Tarrytown New York which was immediatly taken off the tax rolls since he was a church . The other folks there were to pick up the revenue slack since there was less land to tax .
So on one Sunday night about 300 people met in a local tavern to be ordained as pastors in some religion I do not know the name of . So my question is as follows . If a person becomes ordained as one of these pastors and declares his home to be a " place of worship" can the police come in and search for guns ? Also can those folks on Long Island New York refuse to pay the newer higher fee if the weapon is now "church property ?" Could be a stalling tactic worthy of discussion .

Sounds like a good recipe for another Waco.

I could work, but it would require a supream court decision. The Supream court has ruled that you can smoke peyote as part of a religious ceremony. Previously, due to the racist war on drugs, it was EEEEEE-legal.

Again I ask: given the supposed separation of church and state, why should a state be able to legislate behavior of a congregation on church property?

Did you know that the Unification Church owns Kahr Arms and the Washington Times?

RickD,
It is obvious that the Federal government has more and more infringed in areas where the Constitution gives it no authority. In fact it prohibits this. The Congress seems to think that only Washington knows what everyone should do. The Republicans are not much better that the liberal Democrats. I agree that no government at any level has the right to dictate what the policy of a church should be! Jerry

I'm starting a non-profit corporation in NY state to help out some refugees. The IRS and State of NY would be on you like pigs on slop. Don't try it. You wouldn't get past the SS-4 or the 1023/4.

If you register your church with the government as a 501C3 nonprofit corporation, the government has authority over your church and your guns. If you do not register with the Feds, they have no constitutional authority over your church. Once the free church establishes it’s legal position under the authority of GOD’s law with the local courts and Sheriff, no government official is authorized on sovereign church property without permission. The constitution provides for this. Please note that there is nothing in the IRS code that requires a church for file for 501C3 status. The IRS recommends against it as a church is already tax exempt.

I belong to a “free church”. Government officials don’t hassle us much. We do however work with the Sheriff and BLM folks in patrolling the local river as their resources are spread thin.

For more information on free churches try a search for Marbles, WA. This is the most prominent free church/township in the nation. Don’t establish a church to protect you weapons, establish it to be under the sole authority if Jesus Christ. Remember “No king but King Jesus”? Much or the American Revolution was fought from the pulpit with words an inspiration from pastors that wore there uniforms under the pastoral robes. This fact is sadly omitted from modern historical accounts and totally forgotten by the wimpy 501C3 pastors that would have all of us surrender our guns. No GOD fearing Christian would be without his guns!

by the way guys If you go to www.ulc.org you can be an ordained minister. My father and I have it and in our pawnshop we actually marry people. Since there is such a thing as separation of church and state, the gov has no "controling legal authority" of who is a minister and who isn't. My father has done several weddings over the years, and he doesn't know a thing about religion.
