I put a 1911 on layaway at the local PawnHaus today at lunch. I almost hiccupped when I saw the gun in the display case: a pristine Colt M1911A1 with U.S. property marks, Colt/Hartford slide marks, and completely unaltered from the looks of it. No finish wear at all, smooth action, even the mag spring is still strong, and a crisp trigger...it said, nay, shouted "Buy me!", so I did.
Price tag: $349.00.
I intend to get my new baby out of layaway as soon as I can...just leaving my plastic at the office prevented me from bringing the gun home outright.
They also have an excellent Colt Series 80 Combat Commander with beavertail, extended safety and Heinie sights, as well as a butt-ugly Trashco Aimpoint mounted to the right grip, in what I'd call 90% or better shape. Two-tone, nice trigger, and a price tag of $499. I have the pawn shop # if anyone is interested. OTOH, I might just go there again this afternoon and put that one on layaway as well.
