Chs. Daly .45--range report

Recently bought used .45 CD for $300 at gun show. Read post that said older ones, with serial number beginning in A, had a lot of problems. Recoil spring was bad, and I replaced it. At the range today, I shot the tightest group at 7 yds I have shot with any gun. 7 were in a half inch group, one was a flyer about 3 in. out with 3D LRN factory reloads.. 4 boxes, not a jam or malf. of any kind. I am now a Chs. Daly fan. Only question is longevity of cast frame vs. forged frame... But count me a believer. Nice going, Mr. Daly and your Philippine helpers. Any other CD feedback?

I also own a Chuck and mines a newer one. And it is a great gun. Except I got the magizine switch and got some crappy mags but the new ones are on the way. So is a new recoil sprinng and an oversized firing pin stop(the original wiggles about, really loose). Other than this the gun is a really good from finish to feeding.

My CD is about 3 months old.Mine runs great with the Mec-gar mags. that came with it.I didnt have much success with Wilson or Shooting Star clips. It just didnt like em!Go figure?Better stick to what works.Your right about the firing pin stop.Replaced it and adjusted the extractor. It is a good shooter.
