chrome lining in Armalite

I just bought a new Armalite AR15 with a chrome lined barrel, and was wondering does the chrome lining hurt accuracy? Would it make sense to have a match bbl. installed? If so, How great, on average, is the increase in accuracy? It is for informal target shooting. Thanks, almighty Gun-Gurus!

Chrome lining is nearly impossible to apply evenly down a bore. Chrome is harder than copper, so a bullet that passed over a chrome "bump" would get a dent, and accuracy would be affected. Long range competitors are quite concerned about this sort of thing, so match rifles aren't chrome lined. Unfortunately, the non-chrome barrels wear much mroe quickly, so we go through barrels about twice as fast.

If you're just plinking, don't worry about it.

Shoot it first and see how the accuracy is. Try it with good ammo (i.e., Federal Match). If that isn't good enough for you, THEN start worrying about changing the barrel. I suspect you won't see the difference in accuracy between chrome and unlined unless you're using a scope.
