At a pawnshop today.

S&W 64-3, 3 inch, DAO stainless .38 Spl. revolver with the hammer spur missing AND the whole hammer flash chromed (that is the hammer was not ground off. It was flash chromed that way.)

The hammer looks exactly like the one on this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2N7t4719aw

Inside the grips it was etched TPD xxx. Serial number ACUxxxx.

$378 bucks, tax included. Locks decently on all chambers and no end shake either.

So what PD was this? The grip frame has many marks.

On the right side of the grip frame is an 'O' inside a circle and a W inside a triangle.

On the left is an L, E26, F27, big S, and other marks with the TPD xxx etched on that side.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Deaf

Oh, I now think maybe TPD is the Tucson Police Department....

Gun is in itty bitty pieces right now.

Doing cleanup, action job, etc..

Wish I had the skills to put in a red insert in the front sight.

Hey Deaf,

I've got a M65 with the same markings (TPD-xxx). Guy told me when I bought it that it was from Tampa, FL. Didn't really matter to me one way or the other, but I've found one other gun marked the same, and it definitely wasn't anywhere near Tampa.

Would be interesting to see how many of these are out there, and of course, find out where they came from!

LOL!

For a carry gun, that might have a dual meaning. One while on "official business" and the other once in retirement. :D
