Choosing a New Semi Auto

I know the beretta will. For something not quite so expensive though. you might want to check out Charles Daly, I've heard some good things about them lately.

If you're seriously considering frequent use of 3-1/2" 12-ga super mags, perhaps you'd be happier going with a 10-ga like the Remington SP-10. Those who have shot 3-1/2" loads in their 12-ga guns typically comment that the recoil is punishing. Consequently, they feed their guns a normal diet of 2-3/4s with the occasional 3s while avoiding the 3-1/2s altogether.

Thanks for the replies and information. I do consider
the opinions also. I should be more specific. Which
models of shotguns in semi auto can chamber 12g
in 2 3/4, 3, and 3 1/2 inch ? Does anyone here have
that information ?

Here are some auto super mags:
For recoil reduction, I'd go with the Benelli Super Black Eagle II ($1250-1600). It claims to shoot everything from 2-3/4" light dove loads to 3-1/2" super mags.
The Beretta Xtrema A391 ($1250-1700) makes the same claims.
Browning Silver Hunters ($1179-1419) and Mossberg 935s ($613-807) are chambered for 3-1/2" loads. They make no claims about 2-3/4" compatibility. But there are reports that "hot" 2-3/4" loads will function okay.

The remington 870 or mossberg 500 are better....:D

:rolleyes:just had to adhere to the unwritten forum rule of suggesting a pump when a semi is asked about:rolleyes:

Thanks again, for all input. I have Mossbergs in 500 and 590.
I am going to forget the 3 1/2 12g. The Mossberg 930 SPX is
what I'll be looking for. Your advice is appreciated.:D
