Chokin it

Just wonderin. Does anyone have the ID measurements for all chokes and including the ID of a 12ga.? Maybe post measurements for 20 ga. also if you're feeling energetic. I'm curious as to which is the closest to a straight bore.

bullet placement is gun control

From my understanding, the Cylinder choke is the same as a straight bore.

Chokes are also more than just a change in ID. Some chokes will just taper down (conical), some will step down (beginning and end of choke cylindrical, middle part is conical). There may be other choke geometry I can't recall at this time.

OK Muleshoe, I dragged out my Gun Digest Book of Trap & Skeet Shooting, so get ready to highlight and hit <ctrl>-V.

American Standard Bore & Choke Dimensions
____________12 GA_____20 GA
Bore ID______.729______.617
Full_________.035______.025
Imp Mod_____.025______.019
Mod_________.019______.014
SK2_________.012______.009
Imp Cyl______.009______.006
SK1_________.005______.004
Cyl_________.000______.000
(there is also data for 10,16,28, and 410), but I'm not THAT energetic. :D

The choke dimensions are choke constrictions. (Change in diameter?)

Now, choke styles:
Cone plus parallel (most consistent and even patterns)
Cone
Cylinder
Spreader

WHew, I have got just TOO much time on my hands.

Muleshoe:

all of the above #'s from joy...... work well but the ID goes out the window if the bbl has been back bored and Beretta as an example runs slighly tighter ID on a stock bbl. Browning, in their comp guns tends to run just a hair over.
