Chokes

I'm using a beretta 28 inch silver pigeon for recreational skeet and trap. It came with a number of chokes but I'm wondering which i should use for skeet, trap, and the hunting and which (if any) after-market chokes
I should purchase.

I know this is a vague question but I'm new at this...

What chokes came with the gun? For Skeet, use a Skeet, Cyl or Imp Cyl choke. For 16-yard trap, mod or tighter. For hunting, it depends on your environment.

Most open for skeet (cyl, skeet or IC). Tighter for trap (mod, IM, Full). If your chokes have notches in the rim, the more notches, the more open it is, except sometimes skeet and cylinder don't have any notches. Full will have one notch. No need for aftermarket chokes to start with. Same goes for hunting, except steel shot patterns tighter, so will need a little more open choke for steel than lead. Hunting depends on distance you are shooting the bird.

If you got 5 chokes with the gun from the factory, you most likely received C, IC, M, IM and F

If it is a field gun that came with three, you most likely got IC, M, F

C SK, IC are all perfect for skeet
M, IM, F are all good for trap

Any combination can be great for hunting, depending on the quarry
