choke tubes

ima be using my fav. shotgun my baby mossberg 500 12 gauge to use in meat & money shoots an im stumped on what choke's to use. from what i know the choke tube can not extend out the barrel. i pretty sure i have a Extra Full choke in now but is there a better one? an if i can use one that extends out of the barrel which one is better? both in an out the barrel.

Companies make extended chokes for every brand

How do you know? Did you remove it and see what it says? How does it pattern at the pattern board?

i didnt ask right my bad what choke for lead shot has the tightest pattern. im not up on chokes. an it has a EF on it.

an i would be buying a accu-choke for my 12 gauge an i would have to wait to see what my 500 20 gauge is.

Even if it says Extra Full - whether it achieves that pattern will depend on the ammo you use and how it performs in YOUR gun at the pattern board - what might work for me in my gun, may have different results for you in yours.

There have been several threads discussing choke tubes in general and specifically on extended choke tubes.

For card/meat shoots, I have used a Trulock PHWIN12640 extended choke in my Mossberg 500 12 ga., and even won the bacon once. It has a 0.640" exit diameter, a very tight turkey choke.
