Choices ?

Well to start, I have a S&W 638 on lay a way.
Today after a doctors opointment, I decided to go to my range since I was already close. WHY do I do these things??? Because when I get there they have a nice S&W 908 single stack 9mm that is sweet for CC and that is a great price ($299) for a used but with the box and 2 mags semi-auto. I do not need it, as my Kahr cw9 covers the bases well, but it is a sweet price and I could buy it and still put another $100 down on the 638 to keep that on hold for later! I have always wanted a S&W 3rd gen as well.

Man do I have an addiction problem, handguns have really got ahold of me in the last two years!! I need to go to the Betty Ruger ... I mean Ford clinic!!

So even as much as I want to pick up the 638 on the 1st, I am debating putting only $100 more on the revolver and picking up the 908, WHAT TO DO?? Good thing the wife does not know about the second Makarov I bought to get a fixn last month! :o

AWw Jeezzz... choices choices... lets think this one out..dont be hasty or harsh... not foolish,,yet responsible... welll

Just pony up the extra dough and get em both.

how much is the layaway on the 638? cause the prices i see are around $429. you might as well just pay that off in full if you can afford a 299 pistol and still have $100 left over

and you can get a brand new 910 for $449 or 908 blued for $489, but $200 is a big price difference

Personally, I prefer a S&W over a Kahr. So, I'd buy the S&W, sell the Kahr, and put the money from the Kahr on the 638:).

Choices?

We don't need no d*&^% choices.

It's time you learned; the best way to deal with temptation is...

Yield!

Get 'em both.

You know the only thing you'll regret is not getting them both;).

I'm an old guy (well, older than I was yesterday). I'll tell you that there are far more things I regret that I didn't do then there are that I did.

Best,

Will

It would be easier if we were all rich,,,

I stopped into my local pawn shop yesterday afternoon,,,
I have a Ruger SP101 on order (back order) there.

I started to walk over to the used gun cabinet,,,
The evil owner said to me "Don't bother going there.",,,
"I have what you are looking for right here, waiting for you."

I said, "Yeah right."
"Whatcha got that I can't live witho,,, Oooooh!"

He pulled out a S&W Model 12 with the 4" tapered barrel,,,
Dang thing looks like it's never been fired,,,
No box but it looks like brand new.

For a mere $400.00 it can be yours,,,
Curse him!

I hate that man,,,
he doesn't play fair at all,,,
He knows that I have an affinity for 4" k frames.

So now I have a choice to either stay with the back ordered SP101,,,
Or transfer my down payment onto that very pretty Model 12.

I need to win the lottery dangit!

If the S&W is as nice as you describe, I'd go with that instead.

You can always buy a nice NEW gun. A nice USED gun is harder to find.

Oh I'm with you EdInk,,,

There will always be another SP101,,,

I just find the situation amusing,,,
David (Evil David) is the new owner of the pawn shop,,,
And he has one attribute in that he gets to know his clients tastes.

There were two older gentlemen perched on the counter stools,,,
Both were chuckling at my dilemma and teasing me a bit,,,
Then David got up without a word and went to the back.

He returned and laid a very nice Colt Woodsman in front of my tormentor,,,
The gentleman stopped in mid sentence and stared at the pistol,,,
Then the old gentleman turned to me and said,,,
"He really doesn't play fair, does he?"

This is where I bought that pristine Model 15 a while back,,,
Evil David took note of my love for K-frames,,,
It's always in the back of his mind.

I'll probably pop on over there on my lunch break,,,
Have him cancel the order for the SP101,,,
It's too pretty a specimen to pass.

But that's the last time he reels me in like that,,,
I'm going to develop some resistance,,,
I refuse to be manipulated again,,,
'till he gets another K-frame,,,
Curse his bones!

Update

OK I was weakened thanks to you guys and my addiction. I had the 908 pulled so I can grab it on the 31st, only 4 days left!! Then I will still have a $100 or more to put on the 638 and I will be half payed off. I will be able to pick the 638 in another month now, so I still get both I just have to be patient;).

Thanks for everyone's input, the 908 was just too good of a deal at $299, I couldnt pass up and it gets me into a 3rd generation S&W like I have always wanted!! I am also lucky because the wife is on my side of logic for once, and she thinks I deserve it for working over time.
I love it when a plan comes together!!:D

That's sounds good, but you have to have the Airweight with the snag free SA trigger.

I'd say if you "need" it, get it. Sounds like a neat gun.
