Chinese Tokarev vrs FEG HP

Looking for a 9MM for general plinking, hunting, & target shooting. Was wondering if the Feg is worth the extra $75 or so.
Had a russian Tok once and was impressed with it's no nonsense simplicity & reliability. But have heard good things about the Feg. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
 
The Tok was designed as 7.62X25 not 9mm. Perhaps you can get a 9mm barrel but expect much less performance with 9mm. The Tok has quite a service record behind it however, ammo is probably going to be harder to find than 9mm and more expensive. If thats acceptable to you jump on it.
 
Didn't NORINCO make a copy of Hungarian Tokagypt? As I recall somewhat fuzzily, it was a Tokarev that chambered and fired 9mm Parabellum ammo.

Given that choice, opt for the FEG. The import Tokarevs have a spotty record and the safeties that they had to put on have not always been reliable.

Toks are fun, but for a serious handgun, an FEG HiPower beats it by a mile (and a half). My FEG was every bit as good as a Browning.
 
I am going to have to vote FEG hi-power as well. Norinco does make a 9mm Tokarev (model 213 I believe) but they are not exactly high quality marvels of engineering, and quality control is poor to fair (although some of their other offerings are quite good).

I've shot the Tok, and I own a couple of HP's, including a FEG. I'd take the FEG in a heartbeat, I'm quote impressed with mine.

say the FEG is definitely worth an extra$75. I love the Toks(traded
my last Chinese for a Polish Tokarev that's a keeper) but none
of them were reliable with hollowpoints. The Hi-Power is simply
a superior gun to the Tokarev in almost every respect and the
FEG is a reliable, inexpensive copy of that superior design
 
Have you seen the defensive rounds in 7.62x25, things explode rabbits! the round might cost more, but it is IMHO a better one than 9mm. The FEG is a nice gun, the safety tends to flop on and off but then againt the safetys they make for tokarevs are pathetic. I would choose the tokarev but it doesn't really matter.
