Bought a Chinese SKS today and just got back from shooting it.But that trigger...oh my god ! Talk about creep ! Ok,what can be done to improve it ??

sks trigger

Typically, they have a lot of creep because the engagement is not correct. If you just minimized the creep, then likely the engagement is negative. These adjustments go "hand in hand" with safety first.;)

Okay I'm a big fan of "do it your self" and I love to see people learn to work on and tweak their firearms.

But.

The SKS Trigger group is one of those things that you should not work on yourself unless you either have experience, or have an experienced person supervising.

It is frighteningly easy to take an SKS trigger into "negative engagement" which is very dangerous.

Please read here for an initial primer on SKS triggers.

And please don't tinker with an SKS trigger as your first project.

I'm curious how this SKS conversation has ANYTHING to do with AKs.

BTW the worst SKS triggers I've ever felt was on my Albanian. The best was one of my russians

Almost all military issue rifles have this type of trigger. You either learn to deal with it or get rid of it. Rifles with a military trigger can be fired very accurately if you can deal with it.

While designed by different people, both weapons were designed around the requirements of the Soviet military and evolved to what they are now through that service and the continuing Russian military service.

In other words, they're still very similar, especially when it comes to the quality of their respective knock-offs. Romanian versions of both are dependable and affordable.
