Child education saves rights.

Hello my name is Erin t. I'm Davet's son and I'm here to talk about the problem of children shooting themselves with their parents firearms. Now don't get my wrong. I'm not saying that it's something that we shouldn't look into solving but the answer is not banning more types of guns. The answer is "EDUCATION". When I was five I found my moms .380 auto Colt and instead of picking it up and fumbling with it I walked out into our living room and asked my father what it was. He told me it was a handgun and explained what it was used for. But he also told me that it was a very powerful tool and weapon, and that I must never forget that. After awhile I lost intrest in the gun. I'm now fourteen and have a strong interest in firearms but I have never lost my respect for them. This is what needs to be done, we must teach our children about guns, because if we satisfy their curiosity they will be less inclined to satisfy it themselves. If you help your children to understand guns and their purposes Congress and the anti's will have one less reason to inact these treasonous laws against the citizens of our great country. So get more involved in your kid's lives and teach them to respect firearms not fear them. When an uninformed child dies it gives the anti's one more bullet to riddle your children's rights with. So, for "EVERY" American citizens rights, lets get more responsible so that our children will still have the same rights that founded this country. I might not be old enough to vote yet, but I'll die before I let some treasonous fool take away me and my familys GOD Given Rights. Thank you and for you and especially your children's sakes keep fighting and don't back down. No more compromises, no matter what, or we'll lose our most precious commodity, our freedom!

Erin, I'm glad to be on your team. I have 16 or 18 nieces and nephews, all of whom know the precautions of being around and handling firearms. They get excited sometimes, but a swiftkick in the boot straightens them out. ;)

I hope you grow to old age teaching your grandchildren how to use and enjoy shooting, instead of telling them stories about how it 'used to be.'

Thanks for posting, young friend.

Excellent post Erin. I would bet that you would be avery powerful force in helping to educate other folks that are in your age bracket.

Looks like they already have a leader.

Welcome Erint! I think your post is excellent! From what you wrote, I can see you have been well educated on firearms. Kudos to you and your parents! Keep up the great attitude, and perhaps you can help kids of your generation think along the same lines as yourself. Like CMOS said, I think they have a leader :)

Keep up the good work!
