Chiappa Levers!

Hi guys I am just trying to get feedback on anyone who has experience of Chiappa lever rifles. A 44 mag, 24" octagonal barrel one has caught my eye.

Marlin don't make them with that barrel nor do Winchester!

Chiappa rifles are very nice, supposedly exact copies of the Winchester 92 (well, sorta ). The finish on the wood is a little iffy, but otherwise they are nice rifles. I am lusting after a Chiappa takedown 92 myself.

The rifle is nicer than the carbine which has cheesie iron sights. Mine got sent back to the warranty station because a bushing, stabilizer what ever its called for the magazine tube kept sliding out of place. Mine has a very smooth action and much better accuracy than a deluxe Uberti short rifle of mine. The rifle looks much nicer sight wise etc. My LGS has a half dozen or so of the carbines and rifles, they are priced at around $650.00. Much better than what Cimarron wants.

.44 20 inch Round barrel

Got one of these. I like it, but have not shot it as much as I like to. If does very well with factory jacketed loads, but the only time I shot some cast lead bullets, (reloads from a gun shop, 240 grain semi wad cutters) they tumbled and failed to group at 25 yards.
Fit and finish very nice, action smooths up with a couple of hundred rounds.
