Chiappa 1911 22

Anyone know about these pistols.

I bought a $10 raffle ticket and one this pistol. Picked it up at our club's Light Rifle Match yesterday.

Did shoot 10 rounds out of it before the match. Shot a nice group but to the left, No biggie, I can move the rear sight.

It looks nice except the plastic magazines. Not sure about them though I have some CZ 452 plastic mags that work flawlessly.

The gun does look and feel like a 1911. All the buttons are in the right place.

I read one review in a gun ran that gave it high marks, but I don't put a lot of faith in such reviews.

Just wondering what people who have actually own and shoot one think.

I shoot bowling pins with my Colt Series 70 Gold Cup, I'm thinking if this thing works out it would be a good gun for shooting the 22 RF phase of our pin matches.

M1911.org reviewed it awhile back.

I tried one that belongs to a friend. Hated it. Absolute junk. The Colt/Walther/Umarex version is light years better, but I still couldn't wrap my head around a "1911" with the barrel being an integral part of the receiver. In the end, I stayed with my home-built, no-name receiver wearing a Ciener conversion.

I don't think it's nearly accurate enough for that.

I bought one about four years ago and have never got it to function reliably. Shortly after, I bought a GSG/Sig, and it is so much better as to not even be comparable.

Well, I paid $10 for the raffle ticket and the gun came with a brick of Federal ammo so I didn't get bit too bad.

I'll just shot it until it falls apart. So far it shoots pretty good, both accurate and reliable.

You are indeed a lucky human being; twice over.

You should invest in a couple of lotto tickets :D.

I bought one of those last year from my LGS. It was neither accurate nor reliable.

My LGS (bless his heart) gave me full credit toward a Kimber conversion which has been a delight on my Springfield Milspec receiver.

Let us know how well it does in competition.

Best,

Will

What was that movie line,,,

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

In this case,,,
Leave the gun, take the ammo.

You be one lucky dude kraigwy,,,
But since you own the little gun now,,,
I would expect you to wring it out and give us a comprehensive review.

Let us know how it runs for you,,,
I'll enjoy reading a review from someone knowledgeable.
