I was on CNN's site during the debate tonight. They had a point by point poll on each issue as it was debated. Cheney won EVERY question by 67% to 79%. Too bad we'll never see this reported.

Yea I saw that too. Lieberman got POUNDED on each of the topics according to that CNN poll!!!

To be honest, I felt that BOTH men were FAR superior to their "presidential" candidates. More civil, more knowledgeable, and more articulate. Speaks volumes for the "quality" of prez candidates.....

I agree, Dennis. They made the Pres. candidates look like teenagers sitting in on an adult conversation.

I'm also with Dennis. I have never seen a political debate that was so marked with high character, and polite disagreement. Do I expect them to disagree? Sure. Do I expect to see the opponent rolling his eyes, and making stupid faces and huffing? Hell no. Sad to say, but the big boys were on tonight. I could easily support Dick Cheney for President. His voting record is more Constitutional than anyone from either party. He may be as close to a libertarian that we'll get. He has flaws, but the man oozes competence. Too bad I can't say the same for the other 3. GW seems like a likeable guy. Joe Liberman seems like an honest guy too. Al Gore is a compulsive liar, and is irritating to watch. God spare us from having to see him for the next 4 years!

Ditto what Dennis said. KJM, I couldn't have said it better myself. I'm hoping that the positive tone of the VP debate will flow into the next Pres debate. And I'm hoping that Gore will keep on lying at the rate of one whopper every couple days. With the liberal media even calling him on these lies now, five more weeks should be enough time to convince most undecided voters and maybe even change some votes to Bush.

The Best Comeback by Cheney!!!

LIEBERMAN
And I'm pleased to see, Dick, from the
newspapers, that you're better off than you were eight years ago, too.
(LAUGHTER)

CHENEY: And most of it -- and I can tell you,
Joe, that the government had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Update

I was wrong this is the best Qoute

LIEBERMAN: I can see my wife, and I think
she's thinking, "Gee, I wish he would go out into the private sector."

CHENEY: Well, I'm going to try to help you do
that, Joe.

LIEBERMAN: No...

APPLAUSE)

Thanks-- this is the first mention of polls I've seen this AM-- what gives? Usually the press drowns us with polls!
Dennis, I'm inclined to agree with you-- the debate last night appeared to be a discussion between 2 adults, as opposed to a wrestlin' contest between two teenagers...
( of course, FWIW, I preferred Lynne Cheney for VP...)

All of these polls referenced here appear to be point-and-click web polls and, as such, are pretty much worthless as a barometer of public opinion.

ABC News did a snap poll (marginally better than a web poll) just after the debate which showed 43% thought Cheney won, 24% thought Leiberman won and 27% thought it was a tie (???). Perhaps a good sign: Among women, Cheney came out ahead 38% to 30%. See
http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20001006/ts/debate_poll_dc_1.html

Personally, I thought Cheney just killed Leiberman. Leiberman came off as a politician, Cheney came off as a statesman.

Well..I would participate in the mentioned ABC or other similar poll but you see...my opinion doesnt count as I have NEVER been called upon to do any national poll of any topic! These webpolls and the Nov 7 poll are all I got!
