Cheek rest

Looking for a cheek rest for a Rem 700 that only attaches to the top of stock , the strap on type interferes with the rear bag, I only bench shoot

I occasionally get a piece of closed-cell foam pipe insulation to use as a cheek piece to get the proper eye alignment with the scope. I'll generally put it under one of those buttstock cartridge carriers from Allen.

You may want something less WECSOG, but the pipe insulation works great for me.

+100 for PawPaw, That's exactly how I do it when I need a higher cheek rest. Also there is a fella on You Tube, that helps you set up your rifle for long range shooting, (he has a lot of helpful tips) and he explains how to make a cheek rest.:)

Karsten Adjustable Cheek Rest

That's another option and one that I've considered, but I don't think I'd want to drill holes in my wooden stocks. However, I've got a couple of synthetic stocks that might get that treatment.

Savage uses the Karsten on their Long Range Hunter rifles. I like the simplicity and folks I've talked to like them, but I'd hate to drill holes in my wood stocks.

I definitely wouldn't drilled holes in my Winchester Model 70 stock, it is too purdy! Now, my Remington 700 SPS-V?... I wouldn't have too many reasons to hesitate ;)

I like that also, but wouldn't be interested in drilling wood stocks but every synthetic stock that I have will get one of those if needed.:)

Cheek eez

You may want to try a Cheek eez, that is made by Kickeez. There are several different thicknesses available up to 1/4". Several suppliers sell them for about $16.

Add a piece of pipe insulation, then duct tape it on your stock. Keep adding duct tape till you get the proper height.
