I made a new stock for my 7.7jap and want to do some checkering on it so I scetched out the patern on paper til I got what I wanted. Can anyone give me tips on good way to transfer a pat. from paper to the stock? Help I new to checkering.

The old way was carbon paper, but with the demise of the typewriter industry, it has vanished. You can, however, buy a similar material from people who sell sewing and embroidering supplies. They have it for transferring patterns to cloth.

Scorch makes a good point. In the computer age, it might just be easier to transfer the pattern to computer by scanning it, then print the template on a large computer label or print it on onion skin paper (if you can still find it) or other thinner paper and use spray adhesive. The paper that remains after the cutting might need to be removed with solvent, though, and I am told that can affect the the wood's patina?
