Maybe it's a cute parody. Dunno. My main objection lies thence:

By the time a baby is 5 inches long, he very definately has a heart, not a "what would have become his heart." In fact, a human baby's heart begins beating around 18-24 days after conception. This is before most women know for sure they're pregnant. By the time a woman knows for certain that she's pregnant, her baby's heart is already beating.
I think Art's assessment of The Onion's taste may be correct.
