check out this 1500$ mosin!

Yes that is the little M27 Finn cavalry carbine.
They are very valuable, I believe they are the most expensive Mosin Nagant.

I know a guy on another forum who picked one up in a pawn shop for $200!

You may be assured that it was used in WW2, either by Finn cavalry or by Finn ski troops.
The Finns had 8 different models of the Mosin Nagant that they used with great effectiveness against the Russians in WW2.

Most of the fighting occurred early in the war, it is called The Winter War.
Finn sniper Simo Haya set a record with 535 kills during the Winter War, he used the M28.

How do I ID MY Moisin model?

Is Georgia VT. in Vermont? I'm totally check and russian gun ignorant... mine is a 7.62 54mm and shoots super excellent...

Koolminx, most Mosins fired that round. The Georgia VT is where the import company was located, it's a surplus rifle, I think, so I doubt it's a Finn.

???

The only M27 carbine made was Finnish.
All the Finns are surplus rifles.
My Finn Mosin has the same import mark as this one.

There are fewer than 300 of these in existence. A dream firearm for the Finnish collector. It went for quite a bit lower than I would expect. Last one I saw sold for $4500.

There appeared to be two Finns at a Memphis pawnshop about two months ago. The inscriptions said "S A".

The shop is east of Guns&Ammo, no more than a quarter mile, on the same side of Summer Ave.
