1. Toss up: Colt 1911, Peacemaker
2. Winchester Lever action
3. HD
4. Plymouth Roadrunner (actually any 60's muscle car).

1. Colt Single Action Army
2. Any lever action Winchester
3. Again no brainer, definiately HD
4. 1964 Pontiac GTO (I don't have one, do not ever plan to get one and in fact don't really care for them personally. However the '64 "Goat" introduced by John Delorian, began the great American muscule car area.

If scatterguns were included in the poll I'd have to say the Remington 870, over five million produced and still counting.

3. Harley of course
4. Ford Model T (but I would rather have a 1970 Pontiac Trans-am with 400ci & Ram Air)

Quintisentially American?

Colt SAA
Winchester lever action
Harley-Davidson
Corvette

As much as I like the 1911, the nod goes to the SAA. The Garand is a classic, but small children around the world know what a Winchester "cowboy" rifle is and where it hails from.

1911 - all models
M-14 or Thompson - .45 submachinegun
Harley Davidson - all models
Jeep - original military vehicle
