Cheap Taurus PT845 holster

I'm looking for a holster, but pretty much the exact opposite of all of the other threads I have seen. I don't care about quality, workmanship, or anything else. I need an ambidextrous IWB holster that will fit a PT845, and the cheapest one I can possibly get.

See, I don't know where I want to carry yet. I know it will be IWB, but I don't know for sure whether I want to go behind the hip, small of back, or what, and I don't want to mortgage my house buying holsters until I find the right position. I'll probably have to buy several just to figure out what cant and ride height I want and such. So I need to first get a cheap holster to see what I like, then worry about getting a more expensive, more comfortable one.

I've gone through basspro and academy, and neither of them had holsters that would fit (although BassPro may have just been out). Academy had Uncle Mike holsters, but none of them were wide enough.

Of course, since this is my first concealed-carry, I may not have any idea what I'm talking about, so feel free to point that out. :)

Ok, so I still haven't found one. I did find something on Uncle Mike's web site that seemed to say one of theirs might fit. But again, it didn't list the PT845 in their fitment list.

So now I've started wondering if the Taurus 24/7 or 24/7 OSS may be the same size? The taurus specs show the 845 is longer, but they don't include width on the 845 specs. I don't know if the increased magazine capacity equated to a width change in the barrel to make things "streamlined" or not. I see a lot of holsters listing the 24/7 in the fitment lists, so if they are the same size it would open up the list of holsters I could use.

My other option is to buy a sheet of kydex or two and s-crap together my own holsters until I figure out where I want to carry. Then buy one for that carry style.

I'm about to be receiving my gun (tomorrow =D) and I did some homework on it before I bought it. As far as a specific one, I can't help you - I haven't looked at any IWB holsters yet.

However, anything that will fit the Beretta PX4 Storm will also fit the Taurus PT-845. Including fobus paddle-holsters.

Good luck!

Good luck. I understand buying cheap to experiment, but want to point out that a cheap holster that fits, more or less, isn't going to give you a true feeling of carrying in that position or even IWB in general. Trust me, my first IWB was a cheap Uncle Mike deal and it was a total waste of money and most importantly, my time.

I know you don't want to go crazy, but check www.donhume.com. They make pretty good leather holsters that should do a good job for you without breaking the bank.

Additionally, you'll likely try a few holsters and positions before you find one that you are really comfortable with. Happens to all of us if you are really serious about CCW and plan on doing it as often as possible.

And finally, regardless of how cheap your holster is, you need a good leather gun belt to support the weight of the gun. Even the most expensive holster you can buy will suck with a belt that won't support the weight.
