Buddy of mine heard about me getting a .300 win mag and he wants one to but he can spend about $500 on one.

Any suggestions? I heard Savage may have rifles under $500

Thanks in advance

Hi Tiger,

Not sure where you are, but here in South Carolina it's no big trick to find a .300 Win Mag for under $500. Ruger, Remington or Browning.........

Easy, go to Walmart and pick up a Weatherby Vanguard. Synthetic version is only around $400. They come in 270, 30.06, 7mmMag, and .300Mag I believe. It's either .300Win mag or .300 Weatherby mag or both, can't remeber for sure. Made on the strong Howa action. They use to make all of Weatherby actions at one time till the yen crapped out and they moved operation back to US. I have one in 30.06 and it shoots sub 1" groups with my handloads. Check one out.

Tiger. The solution to your problem* is: MOVE! Seriously, try looking around at gun shows. I found a synthetic stocked Model 70 for $350 and it even have a 3x9X scope on it. After a trigger job, it shoots very well with 1 to 1,5 inch groups, depending on the load and bullet.
