Cheap holo sights?

It appears that EOTech migh be too pricey for our agency and I was asked to look into alternative sights.

I found some sights by CNC Precision Optics, has anyone had personal experience with these?

Also, I believe Bushnell makes a similar product, if you have used it I would appreciate your input.

Thanks in advance.

Holosight

I got a Bushnell Holosight (400 series) from "Natchez Shooters Supply" a couple of years back. Only cost me about $200, because it was a left over from the previous year. It works great, I have it on the AR I use at work. It's very quick, alot faster then other red dots, like C-more or Tasco. You just have to put the dot on the target and shot (You don't have to make sure the dot is centered, if that makes any sense).
Now they make a new low profile model that looks pretty good, they call it the XLP. Cabelas sells them for $200, you could probably find one for less if you looked around, got a LE discount, or bought in bulk.
Heres a link.

HOLOsight

I have been looking for years for a good holo sight

I have a Beretta Storm carbine that I have had four different sights on it. What I liked the best and have kept on the gun was a "HAKKO" Panorama Electro Dot Sight, Model BED-24.
They can be had for under 150$ and provide easy mounting and adjustment.
They also come with a forward glass cover to protect the lens when used with a hand gun with short barrel.
THey have ether variable dot or multi reticle there are over 25 patters to choose from and each come with a total of 4. I have found that for different light conditions this selection can be important, very.
There are a large number of intensitity settings with the lowest working well at night, and the highest being to bright for normal day light.
THey have zeroing of 1/2 MOA which is about 1/4 inch at 50 yards.
I thought that it was well worth the 150$

The Bushnell Holo has a link on the EOTech website...My gut says same manufactureing process but EOTech branded product meets Mil-Spec Abuse tests (have you seen the shield that surrounds that thing.

I purchased a used Bushnell Holo last week and mounted it on my Cetme. Here is my "review" from another gun forum

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I took my ninja project to the range today. I needed to zero my "new to me" Bushnell Holosite. I used the public range in the Jefferson National Forest outside of Blacksburg, Virginia. It was a nice day, sunshine low 80's. Perfect day to use controlled chemical reactions to demonstrate several laws of physics. I was correct with my early theory that the Holo on a Tapco Swat mount was going to be a bit high. I actually was resting my chin on the stock to get a good site picture. There is now a dime sized lump at the edge of my goatee (How am I going to explain that at work on Tuesday). I was shooting from a bench unsupported. First group (5 rounds) was on paper at 25 yards. About 3 inches low and left - Group size about 1". I used 2 more groups to adjust at 25 yards. I ran the target out to 100 yards and much to my dismay the red dot almost completely obscured the black of the target. The Bushnell Holo is not a magnifying scope. What you see is what you get. My group size opened up to 6-8 inches Very acceptable for a military rifle. Final test was to remove the scope from the mounting rail...walk around. wait a few minutes, put the scope back on (being careful to put it in the same slot and justify it to the rear before tightning) and Voila- it held its zero even after being remounted. I fired a few round from a standing. The red dot felt more like iron sites than a scope. My CETME drew alot of attention. Although I only took 50 rounds of ammo (Aussie 1988) with me, but I still managed to let a few people squeeze the trigger. The smiles are incredible. I still need to do some controlled tests reguarding head position and cant (vertical lean) before I can render a full decision on the holoscope. My initial impression is that it is well made and very effective. I don't know if its worth the MSRP but I only paid $175 for mine used. Its easy to shoot. It may be better suited for something with a flat-top reciever but I think a cheek peice will rectify that.

Lessons learned today 1) Always take more ammo than you think you'll need. 2) Quit buying the cheap pistol targets and get the bigger rifle targets. 3) 10x Bino's are worthless at 100 meters without splatter targets. 4) I need to find a stock riser that will fit the T-6 sotck.
