Cheap gun cabinet project.

[A pause for the COZ]

I have been wanting a security cabinet for some of my Fire arms for a while. Safe is in the basement, sooo some times they dont always make it back down stairs.
Just want to be able to secure them to keep wandering mitts from just grabbing them with out me handing it to them. Son's gaming buddies to be more specific.
I have had various versions of the locker type cabinets in my cart many times.
But I always think about the ammo I could buy with that $120 and I put it back. Buy the ammo.

Any way, I may have solved my problem. Well after some fabrication work any way.

My employer is upgrading all the Substation controllers. They were auctioning off all the old RTU cabinets. These are heavy about 90 pounds each.
I ended up getting two of these for 4 bucks each.
Know what I am going to be doing this weekend.

I think that might be less than the scrap value.

Yea its a nice little perk we get. When they are done using some thing they put it out for employees to buy on auction.
That same sale my wife got these. They are redoing a meeting room.
Hand built Oak front book cases. ( I know the guy who built them)
She got 5 of them for $200 ish for all. (I am stealing one for my books.)
