Cheap AR-15 Carry Handle Scopes

I'm thinking of getting a low-end scope to use on the carry handle of my Bushmaster Dissipator. This is mostly just for fun, and to see how well I can actually shoot the rifle (iron sights are a significant handicap for me). I'm considering the BEC Eurolux and Leapers compact scopes with built-in carry handle mounts. Is there any significant difference between these? I would be willing to pay a little more (up to maybe $100) to get a similar scope that is significantly better quality, but I don't want to spring for a really high-end scope for this rifle (I already have another AR with a better scope on it). I know these Chinese scopes aren't great quality (what can I expect for $40 or so), but I don't want to waste my money if they are truely useless (won't hold zero, etc.). Suggestions?

Doug, you will be much happier with your rifle if you get a decent scope. Cheap scopes often won't hold zero, offer crappy eye relief, etc., and you will never know how well you or your rifle shoots with one.

Unfortunately, your $100 budget won't get you to what you need.

However, in the $200 range you can look at Leupold Vari-X II, and ATN. I recommend that you start there.

Go to AR-15.com and look in the forum that deals with scopes.

There are a few threads there that recomend the BEC Eurolux over the Leapers. I bought the Leapers scope at a gunshow on a whim. It is a POS.:(
