Please read this book! 2006: The Chautaqua Rising is the best political
thriller you'll read this year. I don't ask you to do things often, but I'm
asking now. Please go straight to http://www.2006tcr.com/order/order.htm
and get this book. Author Jack Cashill has done a great job of laying out
OUR problems in a real page-turner. Let's help him become a best-selling
author!

Here's the publisher's blurb:

The year is 2006
Al Gore is President.
The Congress is Democrat controlled.
The Supreme Court is in free fall.

SUVs have been out of production for 5 years

Hate speech is almost anything the authorities want it to be

The Children's Defense Act makes private and home schooling all but illegal

Cigarettes can be sold only on Indian reservations or by prescription

Tort lawyers have made breweries and vineyards their new target

Gun rights are easily suspended under a variety of "emergency" circumstances

FEMA, BATF, and now even OSHA are all armed and on the prowl for the smallest
infraction

A few Americans are ready to take on the system.

Ring any bells? You bet it does. This can't-put-it-down book is a blend of
George Orwell, John Grisham, and the Founding Fathers.

2006: The Chautauqua Rising is a historically-grounded novel that tells the
story of an unlikely coalition of everyday people who fight to reestablish
constitutional government and the rules of law in a nation that has almost
forgotten both.

Cashill is no Michael Crichton, but he has skillfully woven real-life
events and public figures into this intriguing story, and by
fast-forwarding into the near future he has exquisitely merged them into a
frightening scenario that we all know could really happen. It may not be
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six, but it hits OUR issues straight on.
And no, I didn't publish this one (I'd never permit a word like
"Chautauqua" into a book title). And no, they're not paying me to say this.
I just think you should read this one and pass it on to friends.

Chautaqua is a term that goes back to the late 19th century when we had Chautaqua societies. They were ordinary citizens who gathered and had "experts" come in and teach them stuff. Mostly about home remedies, and how-to stuff. The name originally came from where these societies started Chautaqua, New York. The title of the book leads me to believe that somewhere in it, are similar societies that teach more important skills... am I right?
