Charters off duty

Greetings to all from Manila! Would appreciate info/experiences on the performance of the charter arms off duty in cal.38 special. Thank you and hope you guys could help me...Advance Merry Christmas to all!!!

I've had one for about 10 years. It had one problem when I first got it -- the barrel shroud worked loose after a couple of cylinder loads of shooting. I epoxied it back into position and haven't had a problem since.

I don't shoot it much (got a Python and 1911 that I shoot more often) but my wife likes it and she's accurate with it so we keep it around.

It has a two-stage trigger in DA that I find annoying but my wife likes it. Accuracy is okay, other functionality has been fine.

If you can find it at a good price, I'd recommend it for limited shooting. It certainly won't be as durable as a revolver made by S&W, Ruger, or other "name brand" manufacturer.

Greeting's Clarence & Merry Christmas To All,

The Charter Arms Undercover "Off-Duty" is
a fine little 2" barrel .38 Special. Made
to rival Smith & Wesson's model 36; with
a "no frill's", economy blue finish. I
bought one years ago, for the sum of
$129.95. Seems a bit lighter in weight
than a Smith model 36. Trigger pull is
not quite as good as the Smith's; but
the price should be better? I would
recommend standard velocity loads for
plinking; and a cylinder full of +P
hollow-point's for self defense.
