Charter Off-Duty tech ejector question?

I needed a ejector and ejector rod head for my old Charter Off-Duty. I called Charter and the snappy employee just ask what i wanted and i told him i needed to purchase a ejector and the ejector rod head. He imformed me that they can't sell me a ejector only the complete cylinder assembly. He told me they are a matched set,i was not aware of that.

My question is what has to fitting? Is this something i can repair or something a smith needs to do? I'm not really wanting to put much money in this revolver. It's a paper weight if i don't fix it though.

Sold Out for now,who knows how long that will be. They have been sold out for a month or two which is why i called Charter.

Does the match set issue have something to do with timing or something? I'm not familiar with revolvers and really don't want to dig my hole any deeper. If it's gonna require smith work i might as well put that toward a SP101 or J-frame.
