charter arms rimless revolver

I emailed Dee Ecker right before the shot show, and she said that it was scheduled to hit the streets in February. The model number is 79920. If you google, "Charter Arms 79920", there are quite a few online retailers that have them in their system, but no guns yet.
 
I am so looking forward to seeing and reading reviews on it.

I've always wanted a 9mm revolver but I passed on the Rugers and Smiths. I have been tempted multiple times to pickup a Taurus 905 but have so far resisted.

I guess I was wishing for a 6" barrel and adjustable sights, but that isn't happening and I'm not going to pass on the CARR unless there is something really wrong with it.
 
They seem to be having great success with their .40 version, so the 9mm should be a decent little gun. I'm assuming they'll build this one on their smaller .38 frame.
 
I wouldn't call their 40 a success, it sucks. I bought one 1 month ago and its been back to the factory for 1 week now. It fell apart before I had 50 rounds thru it, the star release for the shells never did fall back into place where it was lined up properly and stuck out 1/32nd of an inch when I got it. Then about the 40th shot it wouldn't eject the shells so I popped it hard and knocked the cyilnder out of the yoke assy. Then I took it to the dealer and I had to pay 28 dollars to send it back to the factory.
 
Slugoo good to know! I wonder about the quality of Charter Arms "both good and bad" but I read an article when at the Doctors office and I am/was interested. I do belive to never buy a new model of anything . How was the recoil?
 
I had the 40 S&W Charter...and I hated the way the cartridges have to be snapped in.....I sold it.....I'm waiting on the 45acp. model..i'll put up withe the "snapping" for it though....:D
 
I thought the gun was nice, felt good in the hand and I read an artical in combat handguns about the pit bull and they had nothing but good to say about it. It does not have adj sights but it shot to the 9 ring pretty much with a couple of bulls at 21 ft. Was easy to shoot with not a lot of recoil, I have a SE40 smith that has more recoil than the pit bull. Its neat the way it holds the shells in, maby I just got a bad one!
 
I don't care for the .40 but I am very interested in the 9mm and .45 ACP versions of the Charter Arms revolver. I have an old Undercover .38 and a current Off Duty .38 and an old Bulldog .44 and have never had any problems with either of them.
 
Plastic Moonclips

S&W offers some nice 45 ACP revolvers that use moonclips.The new (relatively)polycarbonate moonclips are easy to load and unload and still retain the use of your fingers-no tool necessary to de-moon the rounds.
I wouldn't depend on them for HD/SD,where I would stick to steel moonclips loaded new and not used for routine shooting.
For range fun,the polycarbonate moonclips are excellent.
Why bother with a newfangled 9mm revolver that probably will give you headaches.
Smith had one years ago and it never caught on.
 
S&W's 547 was never built for the US Market, they were built for a foreign contract and the left-overs were sold here.

Clip-less is a good thing.

I'd be all over a 4" Pathfinder in 9mm.
 
So, if I understand this correctly, this thing essentially doesn't use moon clips but sort of uses a permanently-installed "moon clip"-like device instead of a conventional ejector star? And that's how the same gun can handle both 9mm and .380 ACP?

Interesting ...

Yes I was sent a link to Centerfiresystems.com by them and it was listed as $329.99 I have the 40S&W and I will definetly get the 9mm and the 45ACP when it comes out.
