Charter arms pitbull 40 anyone?

I have had trouble-free service from my CA Pitbull other than my needing to replace a defective hammer block. CA sent me the new hammer block and informed me that breakage of this part was very rare.
I have put about 500 rounds thru the gun since I replaced the hammer block. The gun has shot well with all seven different loads that I have used in my gun.
I find that recoil from most Pitbull .40 rounds is similiar to .38 +p out of an airweight.

Hammer block, or transfer bar?

My transfer bar broke last night. Looks like metal fatigue. That part is no fun at all to replace, and I intend to have CA do it.

The part that broke on my Pitbull WAS the transfer bar. The "flag" portion broke off and the gun will not fire without this part in place.
Due to the strong spring that needs to be compressed while inserting a pin, replacing the transfer bar is not a fun project. My secret to replacing this part is to use three hands.

Been there, done that, in my initial tinkering with the gun. Putting the trigger and it's associated bits back in is not fun.

A friend of mine has a Bulldog in .44 Special as his EDC and I have shot it a few times. Not a bad little revolver at all.
The .40 S&W is a fine defensive round but be sure to use ammunition that is designed for short barrels.

I've been interested in one of these for some time. For the guys that had the parts break, were ya'll dry firing or a lot of rounds or anything out of normal usage for the gun to break? I'm looking at one for a slight J-frame upsize kinda thing.
