I just bought a Charter Arms Corp 38 SPL. I would like to know if there is anyway I can find out what year it was made. I like older guns that made it threw the years without getting banged or scratched up and I believe this one is quite old. If you can offer any advice it would be appreciated.

If it has a shrouded barrel it is a newer model. CA has changed hands a couple times, from what I have read the newer ones (past 5 or so years) and the older ones with the exposed ejection rod are the best quality wise.

Call Charter, they could probably tell you (despite the company having had multiple incarnations).
