Charter Arms .45 ACP revolver

Always thought the Charter Arms Bulldog would be great revolver for carry at times.

Even though I do reload the .44 Magnum, I just did not want to reload for yet another cartridge. I've been trying to do the opposite and reload fewer cartridges! Already have enough problems keeping near identical cases sorted.

Because of this I always thought a CA Bulldog in .45 ACP would be a great idea since I already load for the .45 ACP in Colts, Sigs and Brownings.

Would really like to see both a concealed carry version with a 2" barrel and "Target" version with 4" barrel.

Charter Arms .40

Yes, website said to expect the .40 in 2009 with a 9X19mm (that also shoots the .380) and .45 ACP to follow.

Tuff strips, i believe, has a speed strip that will work with .45's. You might look out for speedloaders, too. I hear they made one for .40 now. I'm not sure of the company.

Are there speed loaders for .45 auto?

I don't know and have never seen any.

Regular speed loaders for the .45 ACP, .40 or 9X19mm should not be any problem.

Cases would be held in place using the extractor groove instead of the rim.

I REALLY hope that Charter is able to make this gun work. I have been very pleased with a .44 Bulldog I bought back in the 80s and to have one of these in .45 ACP would be one of the best carry rigs you could have. I imagine that foolish handloaders will be able to beat one up pretty badly just like they have in .44. I think the best option for carrying a reload would be speed strips. They carry so much better than a speedloader and are fast enough for most purposes with a little practice.
